Our Chickens

We got seven chicks to start. One died in the first week. We bought two more for a total of eight chicks.

Larger coop, pink, as purchased from Ron’s Portable Buildings. We got 10% off, I think, because it was pink.

We did not like pink. We painted it the same day it got delivered.

Sometimes, when the chicks just start laying, you get a rubber egg. The shell is soft. Look at the tiny yolk!

We had to reduce the chicken yard at the start of Winter because the chickens were making it a muddy dead zone. We needed to have some grass for Aidyn. After about a month, we expanded the chicken yard up the hill in a rocky, weedy area toward the woods.
